Lights, Venue, Action

The type of venue itself can have a considerable influence on the style of decor you choose. We have picked out 3 styles of venues below and here are our top styling trends for each.

Bring the outside, inside

Trend #1

The beauty of nature and the great outdoors is simply too fabulous to leave…well…outdoors. So why not bring the beauty of nature indoors and make it a part of your venue. Whatever the season you can achieve this look. From the glittering effect of snow, crystals and the magic of sparkling icicles and brilliant white orchids if you are planning a winter wedding, to the beauty and elegance of Cherry Blossom, greenery, and Weeping Wisteria in the Spring/Summer months. In Autumn, why not bring out those autumnal colours; Tree trunks, logs, leaves and hanging globes. Have fun bringing elements of the outdoors and the seasons into your wedding venue.

This works best with rustic venues.  Think converted Barns/Cowsheds, or uber modern, wooden beamed rooms set in nature.  It also works in venues with vast amounts of glass, to help the vista continue through with the gorgeous light from outside.

Let There be Light!

Trend #2

The classics never go out of style, and that could not be truer than our next trend – candlelight. And we are not just talking a sprinkling, we mean full on candle heaven. Create a fairyland with candles of differing sizes and styles. From sweet tea lights to impressive church candles, to elegant taper candles. Use them to outline the aisle and wow your guests with a “candle lit road” leading them into your reception or your ceremony. And do not forget a generous smattering of twinkling candles nestled among the tables. Along with the candlelight effect, Gold is going to be huge again over the coming year. Everything from gold tableware, gold t-lights, candelabras and even your chairs.

Suited to your Country Manor House, Castle, Stately Home or Ballroom mainly, but for the candlelit aisle, this can be anywhere.  Candles on an aisle will create the most beautiful ambience.

Top Tip:  Remember to check your venue’s policy on naked flames.  A lot will only allow LED candles.  But do not despair, there are really good quality, real flame looking candles that most venue decor companies have now.

Why Have Real, When You Can Have Silk?

Trend #3

Our final trend to ensure your wedding looks perfect is one which might surprise you. Silk flowers. Yes, people, silk is in. Not only do they look gorgeous, but they are a third of the price of real flowers, so you end up getting far more for your money. Silk flowers can now be found in amazing quality and appear very realistic, and they are very sustainable. When designed correctly, these stunning flowers can really give off the wow factor and will look right at home in a luxury wedding venue. The best part? They will not wilt, so you do not have to worry about your flowers looking tired towards the end of the night. Add some glittering crystals for added sparkle and glamour. Obviously, silk flowers suit every venue, even those surrounded by natural flowers.

Top Tip: Choose your favourite flower scented candle with silk florals, it will keep the illusion alive and save you those all important pennies.

It is never too early to start planning the decor for your wedding and which areas are best to dress to get maximum impact, and it is a wonderful way of giving you something super exciting to look forward to.
